Editorial policy
Select Comedy Review aims to make clear, careful writing about comedy. We distinguish fact from opinion, describe our reasoning and correct meaningful errors when they are brought to our attention.
Accuracy and interpretation
We check factual details against suitable material before publication and take care not to present an interpretation as an established fact. When discussing a comic work, we explain the details that support our reading and acknowledge that other interpretations may be reasonable. We do not claim access to private, confidential or unpublished information.
Independence and partnerships
Editorial decisions are made for their relevance to readers, not in exchange for payment or a promised outcome. Any paid, gifted or otherwise partner-supported material is clearly labelled so readers can tell its status. Partner placements are kept distinct from editorial writing, and a collaboration does not guarantee favourable coverage.
Corrections
If you believe a published piece contains a factual error, contact us through the Contact page and identify the passage and the reason it may be wrong. We review correction requests and, when a material error is confirmed, update the text with a clear correction note. We may also clarify wording when doing so improves accuracy.
Illustrations
Some illustrations may be generated with AI tools. Where relevant, we identify AI-generated imagery so readers can distinguish an illustration from a documentary image. Illustrations are not evidence for claims made in an article.
